The great Pan-Africanist, Marcus Garvey, once said that “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”
For this reason, we see it as our duty and mission to keep our national history and heritage alive for coming generations of Kenyans.
We believe that HISTORY serves as a very important collective anchor for a country like ours.
Kenya has made great strides since independence but we still grapple with the adverse effects of colonialism, post-colonialism, the general lack of trust in our leaders and institutions – all leading to glaring social and economic inequalities.
Therefore, it is important for us to be able to look back to times in History when we can find periods of national pride and selfless Kenyan heroes and leaders to keep hope alive.
Our rich history and heritage are key to charting Kenya’s future as part of building pride and confidence to overcome all odds.
Our well-researched history pieces seek to retell the stories of uplifting historical figures and events from all parts of Kenya. We do not feel that is our job to re-write Kenyan history. Truth and history will always find their way to the surface, just like spring water. But it is our sacred duty is to tell it accurately and without favor.
It is also in the same spirit that we seek to chronicle KENYAN INNOVATORS AND CREATORS all across the world. By bringing each body of work to the forefront, we hope to inspire coming generations to keep reaching for the skies. In extension, we are working towards providing career resources to the YOUTH to further themselves.
We are thankful to our ever-growing and very active followers on FACEBOOK that continue to inspire us everyday to find new stories that matter to them. INFO254 continues to be an evolving project and we hope to keep “Empowering you through Information” everyday.
