Professor Shaukat Abdulrazak is the Director for Africa at the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). His work at IAEA entails promoting and coordinating the peaceful use of nuclear energy in Africa in different fields of study and application including nuclear energy, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.

He was previously the CEO of Kenya National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation between 2008-2014 where he worked hard to promote innovation in Kenya.

Between 2014 and 2015, he served as the inaugural Vice-Chancellor at Umma University which is located in Kajiado. The university’s slogan, “fostering knowledge and innovation” was very much in line with Prof. Abdurazak’s work championing innovation in Kenya.
